Gwybodaeth bellach

Charles Thomas was part of the 1st Battalion of the South Wales Borderers, which was stationed at Bordon as part of the 3rd and 1st Brigade in August 1914. Then the battalion was mobilised for war, landed at Havre and engaged in various actions on the Western Front including the Battle of Mons, the Battle of Marne, the Battle of Aisne and the First Battle of Ypres. As well as the winter operations of 1914-15, the Battle of Aubers and the Battle of Loos. In 1916, Charles’ battalion served in the Battle of Albert, the Battle of Bazentin and the Battle of Pozieres, which is most likely the battle in which he was killed in action.
